According to details cited by the military publication Drop Site News, Pakistan reportedly approached China with a proposal to gain advanced nuclear maritime strength. In exchange, Islamabad is said to have offered Beijing long-term access to establish a permanent military base at Gwadar Port. However, the report claims that China ultimately rejected Pakistan’s proposal.
Concerns Over Strategic Security and Retaliation Capability
The leaked information suggests that Pakistan’s main concern was to develop a nuclear deterrent system capable of surviving an initial enemy strike and still being able to respond effectively.
